Boys Basketball

Hi Parents and Guardians,
My name is Wally Rodriguez, and I am the head coach for NPMS Boys Basketball. We are excited to kick off our season in just a few days! Below is important information to help you and your student-athlete be prepared for our first practice on Monday, February 23rd. The season will run through April 2nd. A game schedule will be shared and updated as soon as it is finalized and available.

What to Wear
Players should come dressed in athletic clothing and be ready to be active.
  • Tennis shoes designed for gym floors are ideal
  • Please bring a water bottle labeled with your child’s name

Practice Schedule
  • Practice begins at 2:50 PM
  • Attendance will be taken promptly at 3:00 PM
  • Practice ends at 4:50 PM
  • Please plan to pick up your child by 5:00 PM
For the first two weeks, we will practice Monday through Friday to prepare for our early games. After that, practices will typically be held Monday through Thursday on school days.

What Players Will Learn
We will begin the season by reviewing basic basketball fundamentals to ensure all players feel confident on the court. Our coaching staff will guide, stretch, and challenge the boys in a positive and supportive environment. Throughout the season, we will focus on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and building confidence both on and off the court.

Additional Notes
  • Please inform a coach of any medical concerns or injuries
  • Consistent attendance and positive behavior are expected
  • If your child needs to miss practice, please communicate with the coach ahead of time
  • Athletes who miss practice the day before a game will have impacted playing time, with the possibility of sitting out that game. This helps ensure player safety, preparation, and fairness to the team.
Thank you for supporting positive attitudes, dedication, and leadership at home. We are looking forward to a great season and appreciate your support of NPMS Boys Basketball.

Go Cubs!
Sincerely,
Coach Wally Rodriguez
